| Working and Treatment of
Metformin – Glucophage |
The process effectiveness of Metformin - Glucophage has been through
thorough tests and has also been tried on control groups.
Metformin-Glucophage has been seen to work in three ways; decreasing
absorption of dietary carbohydrates, reduction of production of
glucose and increased sensitivity of muscle cells to insulin.
The decrease in absorption of dietary carbohydrates through the
intestines is a positive action taken by the drug. Tests have shown
it work effectively in that direction and take control. The second
job Metformin - Glucophage does it to start producing glucose by the
liver which is a difficult task without the intake of the drug.
The energy in the food is used by the liver to reserve some blood
sugar. Just as soon as the stress is experienced, the liver starts
the release of the stored glucose for the timely and needed supply
of energy to the muscles and the brain. This helps to release the
pent up stress.
In the third part, which also happens to be the most important one,
metformin goes and sensitizes the muscles to insulin which happens
to be the hormone which delivers the glucose to the cells in the
body. Mostly tests have shown that femailes experiencing PCOS
usually have the resistance from insulin, properly known as “insulin
resistance”. In this scenario lots of insulin is needed to move
glucose into cells.
